The £6 bottle, served the way a restaurant would.

Properly cold, and opened up as you pour — the two things that separate wine out from wine at home. The Lindner & Co Wine Chiller does both, in the bottle you already bought.

There's nothing wrong with the £6 Sauvignon from Tesco. It's a perfectly decent bottle. What lets it down is how it reaches the glass — a bit too warm from the side, or numbed to nothing after a week in the fridge door, and poured straight so it never gets a chance to open up. Warm and flat is what tastes cheap. Not the bottle.

The bit restaurants never skip

Why the same wine always tastes better out than it does at home.

It isn't the room, and it usually isn't a better bottle. It's two small habits a kitchen never gets wrong: the wine goes out at the right temperature, and it gets some air on the way to the glass. Cold enough to taste crisp rather than flabby — and opened up enough to actually smell of something.

The stainless-steel cooling stick living in the freezer, always ready
1

It lives in the freezer

10–15 minutes is plenty — but leave it in there and it's ready whenever you are. No planning, no forgotten bottle.

2

Drop it in the bottle

It chills from the inside, so the wine is cold in minutes — and stays cold on the table for up to 2 hours. Solid steel, so nothing melts into the glass.

Pour through the spout

The acrylic pour spout aerates as it goes, so the wine opens up in the glass. Drip-free, no rings on the table.

Two of them say it better than we can.

From someone who expected it to be a gimmick:

★★★★★

"I was actually a bit skeptical at first, but the wine cooling stick has truly exceeded all my expectations. Even on warm summer days, it keeps my wine perfectly chilled for hours. I no longer need bulky ice buckets."

And on whether it's worth the money:

★★★★★

"What a brilliant invention! Both the quality of the materials and the clever functionality make the wine cooling stick worth every penny. I've already bought several as gifts, it's simply perfect!"
